the final evaluation

this is the final evaluation of the newest assignment the i-d magazine. the overall thought for  the magazine is not a very good one. i think this because i don't think the whole years Wednesday assignment wasn't very well planned, i was a bit confused on what and why the assignment had been changed but even though we all still had to do it. looking back now i wished i had controlled my time more as i can't remember most of the work we had to do before the new Wednesday task, this could have been because of my absences, lack of concentration or loss of saved work. Also, i don't like the fact of using both the sketch books and the blog, i think this is just making more work for the groups and the blog is simple to use as we are on the computers most the time.
for the i-d magazine task i think the good parts of it has been that some of the group members offered their different skills to help create the magazine whereas i would have been stuck if i had to do it on my own. also, i liked the fact that the group worked as a team to get the magazine finished - i had done most of the stand-up portraits with their editing and helping re-make the front cover for the magazine, Dani had done the magazine design and took part in doing the photo shoot (i wasn't apart of taking the photo shoots that the group had done because i was absent with an illness but i had liked what the group had done without me), Alice had done the photo shoot and interview with the band but regrettably we couldn't place it in the final magazine because she hadn't come in, also, the fourth member of the group Russell has not done any thing towards the group and in the end he had left the group to do his own magazine. otherwise,  i am pleased with the effort the group had put in and the final magazine that our group had made together.

these are the pages that i have done in my sketch book. i had to put them on here to let you see what i have done in there. i have had a problem with the sketch book because i didn't realise that the book i had started working in had my 'real people real portraits' work in there as well, this means i have already handed that work in to be marked and i had to rip out the pages i was working on to let it be marked.

the finished CD

this is the final CD cover that i had made. there are a few changes that i made to the final due to not being able to get the products that i wanted. i added more colour to the CD cover to make the CD stand out more - the spine is bright pink, also, the writing of the CD name 'dreams' is in purple. i thought it was a better replacement from the original because i couldn't get the normal printed out words that i wanted, so i replaced it with colour to make it less boring.

i-d covers

 these are a few selected i-d magazine covers. each of the different covers have each got similar qualities. by this i mean the logo i - D is always on the left hand corner, the model always has to close or cover up the left eye, the model is mostly shown from the top of the head to just below the shoulders , also, the catch phrase or slogan  is always below the i-d logo. also, the magazines covers are mostly a women and hardly ever a man.

i have chosen to look the covers so the group can compare the i-d magazine with the one the group is going to produce. by doing this the group can see how to produce the magazine cover to see the advantages and disadvantages of making and selling the i-d magazine. the basic advantages for making the i-d magazine cover are; bold colours that stand out, the logo and the wink has to be there, the model has to be standing out and maybe using props to make them different from the rest of the magazines.

there are a few larger images for the i-d magazine covers. i have made them bigger because they are the few that i think are the better one's. i like these more because they are different or more standing out to the crowd. the first cover with the eye piece i like because it is different as most the others just close their eye with the classic wink. the second one i like because of the model is leona lewis and i think the magazine would be sold more with a very famous person on the cover. i like the third one because i think it stands out with the model then the bright catchy lettering to get people to buy them .
